Hi, my name is Helena Erthal, and my family and I are raising funds for my great-uncle, Benjamin Alanis.
Earlier this year, Ben suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed on his left side. Since then, he’s been living in a nursing facility in West LA, working hard to adjust to a new way of life. Despite the physical and emotional toll, his spirit remains strong.
Watching someone you love lose their independence is heartbreaking.
Right now, Ben relies entirely on others to move—even just around his room. An electric wheelchair would give him the freedom to move on his own again with his right hand, go outside, feel the sun on his face, attend therapy, and just be part of the world again.
We’re hoping to raise $4,000 to cover:
* A lightweight, folding power chair
* Delivery and setup
* Accessories like a cushion, seat belt, and spare battery
* Any maintenance or upgrades that improve his comfort and safety
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference in Ben’s daily life. All funds will go directly to Ben’s mobility needs. If insurance covers a portion later, anything left will go toward his continued care and therapy.
Thank you for your support. Whether you can donate or simply share this fundraiser, we are deeply grateful.
With gratitude and love,
Ben’s Family
