Help UNC Club Rugby Make It to Nationals!
Donation protected
We are the UNC Club Rugby team and we have been working hard all season to qualify for the national championship tournament. Founded in 1966, UNC Club rugby has provided students with the opportunity to learn the sport, make lasting friendships, and compete at the collegiate level. Last season, we were promoted to Division 1, and through our hard work and effort, we are proud to have qualified for the national tournament! Unfortunately, we are now faced with the challenge of covering the travel, lodging, and food expenses, which we simply cannot afford on our own.
Since we are a club sports team, we receive little funding from our university unlike the varsity programs such as basketball and football. We rely upon club dues, alumni donations, and now you to sustain our club’s operations. We have used our club dues and alumni fund all season to cover our regular expenses and advance this far.
The cost of traveling to the National Championship tournament is beyond our means. The tournament will take place at the Maryland SoccerPlex, several hours away from Chapel Hill’s campus, and we will need to cover the costs of transportation, lodging, and meals for the entire team. This is a significant financial burden faced by the club.
That's why we are turning to the community for help. We know that we have what it takes to win, but we need your help to get there.
Your donation will make a huge difference for our team. Every dollar counts, and no amount is too small. Please also share this story with friends and family who love rugby, love UNC, or just want to lend a helping hand. With your support, we hope to compete at the highest level and represent the Tar Heel community. We promise to represent our university with pride and honor, and we are grateful for any support you can provide.
Thank you for considering our request. Together, we can make this dream a reality!
