Help UMass & Smith student organizers present at WeRISE!
Friends, Colleagues, Supporters: Help us grow the movement to foster social justice and peace in engineering! A collection of faculty, staff and grad students who met through the Engineering Social Justice and Peace Network (Steve, Corey, Sarah, Bailey) are raising funds to bring seven inspirational student organizers from UMass Amherst and Smith College with us to the WeRISE conference at UC Berkeley on May 24th. Together we will represent five different universities.
Because of their successful organizing work, these students have been asked to present a special interactive lunch session on relational organizing and resisting militarism in engineering. Most speakers have only been given 10 minutes, so this hour long session is really an amazing opportunity for both the students and for growing the movement.
We have some of our own funding and some support for student travel from WeRISE, but if we want to bring all of these amazing students, we need to raise an additional $1600 to make it work.
Can you pitch in $5, $10 or $20 to get us there? Or more? Thanks for your help and support!
