Help Umasoye Get An Integrative Cancer Treatment in India
My name is Umasoye Ekpete. I have stage 4 rectal cancer, and I'm asking for help to get a real treatment that isn't available to me here in the UK. We need to raise £60,000 to send him to a specialized clinic in India for a course of treatment built specifically around his own cancer.

Umasoye was first diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2022. He went through radiation and chemotherapy, then major surgery that removed his large intestine, rectum, and anus, leaving him with a permanent stoma. He followed that with adjuvant chemotherapy. For a while, it looked like he'd fought it off.

About a year and a half later, doctors found the cancer had come back, this time it metastasis in his lungs, soft tissue as well as the original site. UK doctors offered him more chemotherapy, but only to slow the disease down, not to treat it with any real aim of beating it. He was told this could go on indefinitely, with no clear endpoint.

Umasoye chose not to go ahead with that plan. He didn't want to spend the time he has left going through chemo that wasn't aimed at getting him better, only at managing decline while wearing down what's left of his immune system. Since then, the disease has kept moving. He now has tumors under the skin on his back, hip, and groin, a swollen lymph node, and recently fractured a bone in his lower spine from persistent coughing.
He can still breathe normally, and scans show his liver is clear, but the cancer is not standing still, and neither can we.

Umasoye has been in contact with a clinic in India
called Art of Healing Cancer, which takes a different approach. Instead of treating every cancer case the same way, they run a full genetic and molecular profile of his actual tumor, and grow samples of his own cancer cells in a lab to test which treatments work against it before he ever receives them. Testing so far shows his cancer doesn't carry a mutation that would rule out some of the more targeted treatments available, an option he hasn't been offered in the UK.

Their plan combines several types of treatment,
including chemotherapy and targeted therapy, at lower, carefully judged doses rather than one
aggressive regimen, aiming to fight the cancer while doing less damage to the rest of his body. Where a specific tumor is causing a problem, they can also treat it directly, using heat or freezing rather than relying on chemo for everything.

The treatment is expected to take three to four months. The clinic estimates the treatment itself will cost between £30,000 and £60,000 over that period, billed week by week as it happens rather than upfront. On top of that, we need to cover flights, visa fees, accommodation, and daily living costs for the months he'll be there.

Where the £60,000 will go:
1.) Treatment at the clinic in India (est. £30,000-£50,000 over 3-4 months, billed weekly)

2.) Flights and visa costs

3.) Accommodation for the length of treatment

4.) Daily living and food costs while he's there

Every donation, however small, goes directly toward him having a real chance at treatment, not just a plan to manage what's already happening to him. If you can give, thank you. If you can't, sharing this with people who might be able to help means just as much.
