As with most of us, it’s very hard for me to ask for help. I’m embarrassed. I feel like I don’t deserve it, and I imagine people thinking, “Who does she think she is?” and judging me.

But here’s the truth – I am struggling to pay all my bills right now. I’m working hard, bringing in some income from my business (The Umaverse), pet sitting, and doing Instacart every day. Even with all of that, the math isn’t adding up. Rent, groceries, and bills keep coming, and I can’t meet all those costs right now.

The good news is that there’s an end in sight. Next month, I will start receiving Social Security, and at the end of January, my lease is up, and I will be able to move to a less expensive place (even if that means relocating).

So, this is a short-term request for donations to help me get through the next 4 months.

My goal is to raise $6,000, which will ensure that my rent is paid through until the end of the lease. If I can raise more, it will go towards paying other bills and expenses.

I have to tell you, it is so hard to put this out there, to hit “publish” on this GoFundMe. I have supported myself and managed everything on my own since I was a young adult. I am resourceful and skilled and believe in working hard to earn the money I need. But I also know that there are seasons in life where we need to allow others to walk with us. This is one of mine.
