*UPDATE* 12/19 - Ullie's tumor has successfully been removed. The tumor ended up being on his spleen and his whole spleen was removed. Tumor was sent out for biopsy. A Christmas miracle ..... it came back as a benign myelolipoma. Six sections were biospsied.....all benign!!!! This is the most absolute best Christmas present that I could ever ask for. I am so thankful for everyone who made this possible. And so thankful for everyone who acknowledged this horrible, stressful time we went through and sent prayers and words of encouragement.
*UPDATE* 12/11 - Dropped Ullie off at the hospital for his surgery for tumor removal. Will give another update on his progress. I want to thank each and every single one of you personally for caring enough to donate to him. There is no way that this could hand happened without you. Pray for him.
*UPDATE* Ullie is scheduled for surgery at Blue Pearl on Dec 11th.
Ullie, my miniature schnauzer, has always been my best buddy. Recently, he was diagnosed with a mass (carcinoma) on his liver after bloodwork showed elevated ALT and GGT levels. Two ultrasounds confirmed the presence of a 6cm x 4cm tumor on the left side of his liver. We were referred to a board-certified surgeon at Blue Pearl Hospital, and after our consultation, we learned that the tumor is operable due to its location. Ullie will also need an echocardiogram before surgery because of a slight heart murmur, but otherwise, he is a healthy and energetic little guy.
This diagnosis has been overwhelming, especially as I am still recovering from my own cancer illness and have not yet returned to work. The cost of Ullie’s surgery and the necessary follow-up care is significant, and I am reaching out for help to give him the best chance at recovery. Every dollar raised will go directly towards his surgery, medical tests, and the care he needs to heal and thrive. I have attached pictures for the estimated costs of his echocardiogram and surgery.
If you are able to contribute, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to both Ullie and me. Your kindness and support will help us through this difficult time. If you are unable to donate, please keep Ullie in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for being part of our journey and for caring about my little man.
