Help Ukrainians get settled in the U.S.

Donation protected
Our Ukrainian brethren are coming to the U.S. to escape a devastating war. They need help now--shelter, food, transport, medical and PTSD counseling. We hope for their sake that they can return to their country and their lives. If it turns out that the U.S. will be their new home, they will need help with language, resuming studies, and negotiating the bureaucracy.

The first family arrived on Tuesday. It took them four days to drive the 600 miles from Kharkiv to Moldova. They traded their car for plane tickets. Each carried one knapsack.

I am Mariya Martynenko (in blue). I am a mental health counselor in NJ with a specialty in PTSD. I came from Kharkiv in 1999. I have invited as many as ten others (all we can fit in two houses) to come to Denville, NJ. This is no cheap affair. Tuition for ESL is $300 every two months, and texts are $65. We're going to need an old car or van to get people to school... Even more money is needed to fly people out of Moldova.

Ours is a small effort, but we'll do it for a year. We need your help. If there is something left over at the end, we'll give it to the International Rescue Committee. We'll post updates here or you can contact me at [email redacted].
