Help Ukrainian Students in Ontario, Canada

By now, you are aware of horrific Russian aggression towards Ukraine that caused many deaths, suffering and losses to Ukrainian people.
None would expect to live through war in 2022. Neither did many Ukrainian students who came to Canada for opportunities and world-class education. Back in Ukraine, their families are hiding in bomb shelters and subway stations to avoid airstrikes of the Russian military. Of course, there's not even a question about relying on their families for financial support in a situation like this. This is where you come in - if you wanted to help people affected by the current war, you could start locally. Ukrainian students need your help and support right now.
They need access to housing, food and hygiene supplies, they need to cover their incredibly high international tuition fees and be able to help their families.
All funds from this fundraiser will go to Ukrainian students studying at various Canadian colleges and universities in Ontario - George Brown College, University of Toronto, Seneca College, York University and others.

HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE DISTRIBUTED?
The funds will cover any costs that Ukrainian students won’t be able to cover themselves, including, but not limited to:
-Food and necessary supplies costs
-Rent costs
-Bills payments (mobile, internet, hydro, medical)
-Tuition fees
-Immigration fees
HOW CAN STUDENTS REQUEST FINANCIAL HELP?
Our volunteers created a platform that will allow students to request support through a custom-built form. This form will allow students to indicate the urgency of their request as well as include any relevant information. It’s currently being developed and the link will be shared shortly.
To confirm that the person requesting support is an actual student, we will require them to upload their current transcript and a certified enrollment letter from their educational institution in Ontario, Canada.
To ensure that all students receive fair financial support based on the severity of their situation, our platform will track the funds received by each student. It will add an extra layer of security, mitigating any possible financial machinations and ensuring that the money you donated will get only in the hands of those in need.
Due to the ability to collect this data, we will be conducting semi-monthly (twice a month) statistics on how much funds were transferred and received by students. Our forms will also have a confidentiality check which will allow students to either share or hide details of their support request allowing us to share their stories with their consent.
Our community currently has 100+ Ukrainian students who seek all sorts of help, including employment, housing, financial, etc. Thus, our goal is to raise 20,000$ CAD every second week of the month to distribute at least 200$ per student.
