Help Ukrainian Families and Volunteers

Hi, my name is Igor Kokhan; I am a professor of religious studies at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. I was born in Ukraine, and I spent the first half of my life there. The current situation for Ukrainians is unimaginable: men between the ages of 18 and 60 are banned from leaving the country because they may be drafted and may have to join the efforts to preserve Ukraine. Millions of refugees are fleeing to the bordering countries, including Poland, Hungary, and Romania. My family and I are trying to help those in the middle of a war zone--the men who have to stay, the women with children who are trying to flee, and those who were able to get to safety. At this time, four church ministers from around Kyiv, whom I know personally, are risking their lives to save others by evacuating them to the border with Romania and Western Ukraine. They organized several volunteers who drive 4-6 minibuses, making 3-4 trips per week to Kyiv to deliver humanitarian aid. On their way back, they transport 7-10 people in each bus to the Romanian border. This way, they have already rescued more than 600 people by moving them to safety. On each trip, the fuel cost for one bus is about $200, and they are projected to burn around $10,000 in fuel in one month. Many people's survival depends on the dangerous work of these pastors and volunteers. Please, help us fund their tireless work!
