My father, Eduard Kyrych, is a renowned Ukrainian animation art director best known for iconic works such as The Cossacks and Eneida. His Kyiv apartment was recently destroyed by a missile strike. The room shown in the photo—once his art studio—had been transformed into a nursery for his 18-month-old granddaughter. Now, everything is gone. A lifetime of original artwork, rare books, personal belongings, and all the baby’s clothes and toys were lost in the blast and ensuing fire.
