Help Ukraine's displaced children of the arts
Donation protected
Ukraine is at war; Many children and teens have been forced to flee during this conflict, some spending days hiding in underground shelters from bullets, tanks and shelling by the military. Infrastructure had been damaged and petrol was extremely hard to come by, making an escape to the border an extremely dangerous and harrowing experience. It is without a doubt the most traumatic experience these children have had to deal with in their lives, and to add to this stress, many children have had to leave without their parents.
(A harsh reminder of the reality these children face. These students will depend on video calls and texts to speak with their parents and teachers)

Kyiv Academy of Circus and Variety Arts has approximately 750 students throughout its' performing arts curriculum. We are in the process of relocating these students to safety to performing arts schools throughout the world. Many students aged 14-22 have to leave Ukraine without their parents to be billeted by these foreign schools. These schools essentially not only become a training space for the students, but also a place to provide the nurturing they need whilst they are away from their parents.

We need your support to help these schools cover the basic expenses of these students.
The Kyiv Academy of Circus and Variety Arts has also developed many close friendships with other circus studios from all over Ukraine, who were also fleeing their war-torn cities and needed help. In Kharkiv alone there are 37 circus schools that have been damaged or destroyed. Lviv Circus has been used as half way house for students travelling to the border that are exhausted and need to rest before they continue their travels. The Kyiv Academy of Circus & Variety Arts will also be assisting many of these students find safe homes.
(photo: After spending days fleeing the country by train, car and foot, these students are finally safe and enjoying their first meal in Prague with their temporary foster family at Cirk La Putyka)
Currently, 35 students and a teacher have already left to a school in Prague.
Schools are providing whatever the children need; A place to live, food, psychological counselling, medical help and the possibility to keep training and exchange experiences with local artists.
At this moment there are a further 27 crossing the border and hundreds more are on their way.
Recirquel is providing 100 beds for these students in Budapest in a large apartment complex to ensure they have a safe place to stay whilst staying in Hungary.
Where the money will go? We are hoping to raise approximately $1000 per student to help the circus schools support the expenses of having these students stay with them. The proceeds will be divided up between each school prorate on how many students they have taken under their wing, to help them continue to provide for these children’s needs.

Please support Ukraine's youth! These are the talented young singers, dancers, circus artists, actors and producers of the future, let's not let this talent go to waste and ensure they have the support they need to continue their studies whilst Ukraine fights this war.
