My Aunty Uju is someone I hold very closely to my heart. She was the only one who stepped in when my mum needed a blood transfusion after a grueling pregnancy with me. Uju shaped a large part of my childhood, raising me with kindness, love, and, most importantly, safety. We have secrets between each other that not even my mother knows. She is hardworking and has two kids, both under the age of five.

Right now, Uju is in immigration proceedings and is in fear of deportation. She needs to file Form I-485 through immigration court, as advised by her attorney, to gain protection while her I-130 application is being processed. Unfortunately, due to how long her application is taking, she doesn’t have the legal protection she deserves. ICE is acting in ways that make it difficult for her to speak to her family, and she has been targeted unfairly.

The funds raised will go directly toward Uju’s application, attorney fees, and filing costs. Helping to raise this money for her is the only thing I can do for her right now. My heart breaks daily for her, and I want to help my aunty, my second mummy, find the protection and peace she deserves. Any support you can give would mean the world to both of us.
