Ubbe is fighting to come home.
He is more than just a cat. He was my first baby and is a now core part of our family and a loved member of our community. Neighbors know him by name and expect to see him sitting on his rock outside our window as they pass by.
But right now, he is stuck behind hospital walls, surrounded by tubes and machines. Despite everything, his spirit is unbroken; he purrs like crazy the second he sees me, but his body is currently in a "holding pattern."
Ubbe is in one of Sweden’s best animal hospitals, and I have immense trust in the specialized care he is receiving. But he has been there for more than a week now, and he truly, deeply wants to come home.
The Final Hurdle
There is one strict rule: Ubbe cannot come home until he can pee on his own. It sounds so simple, but after the trauma his body has endured, his system is hesitant to restart. If we can give him just 48 to 72 more hours of professional care, catheter management, and monitoring, we provide the bridge he needs to cross the finish line. If we bring him home too early, he risks a total relapse within hours.
Why We Need Your Help
Intensive veterinary care is staggeringly expensive. We are currently facing a total bill of nearly 100,000 SEK (approx. €8,700 / $9,400). Even with insurance, we are left with an out-of-pocket gap of approximately 40,000 SEK (approx. €3,500 / $3,800) to keep his treatment going.
Every donation goes directly toward:
- Covering the remaining vet bills and the final 2–3 days of 24/7 hospital monitoring.
- Medication to ease his pain, relax his system, and assist his recovery.
- Giving Ubbe the chance to sleep in his own bed again, instead of a clinic cage.

I never thought I would be the person asking for financial help. As a pet owner, I’ve always believed it is my responsibility to be prepared; to have the right insurance and a buffer for the "what ifs." But Ubbe’s crisis has reached a point where even the best preparation isn't enough.
