The Rocketry Club at UAB, a student-led organization at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, inspires and educates through hands-on rocketry projects. As UAB’s first student-led rocketry club, we bring together students from all majors to design, build, and safely launch high-powered rockets as a way to provide real-world application to classroom learned skills across STEM and beyond.
This fall, we’re preparing for NASA’s University Student Launch Initiative (USLI), a 9-month long competition where students from across the country design, build, and test rockets that ends with a final spring launch in Huntsville, Alabama. For UAB to make its first ever appearance at USLI, we need your support for critical expenses: rocket motors, electronics, parachutes, building materials, etc. Without these resources, we cannot compete or continue our outreach programs that inspire Birmingham’s youth to explore STEM.
Your donation will fuel our rocket, and our mission. Supporting the UAB Rocketry Club helps us represent UAB nationally, mentor new members, and host local events to encourage the next generation of innovators.
