Help Tyson get well and home

My name is Sarah, my daughter has an 8 year old dog called Tyson that is her absolute world, she sees him as one of her children. Tyson is the most friendly, loving dogs you could ever meet, he wants to be friends with everyone and everything!

 

On the day before Christmas eve 2021 Tyson seemed to hurt himself well they thought it was his paw, he was ok unless putting pressure so they let him rest up a bit. Boxing day he still had the pain in what looked like his paw, my daughter decided if he was no better by the Tuesday as Monday was Bank Holiday she would see the vet.

 

Tuesday she took Tyson to the vet as he was worse by then, they said that it wasn't his paw. Tyson had a thorough examination and they said he was holding his pain in his stomach.

 

Tyson has had blood tests, x ray, examinations all which were apparently all fine! Nothing untoward no infections.... nothing.

 

By 15th January after leaving Tyson for 8 days in pain having no idea why Tyson had to go back to the vet, he had sadly lost the use of his back legs and couldn't move or stand at all. We took him in a pushchair to the vets.

 

Upon examining him yet again they could find nothing wrong. The vet decided to look at the x ray again and looking closely she saw that Tyson had spine compression which is his vertebraeare touching giving him paralysis, this should have been obvious before then so that help could have been given sooner instead of leaving him to suffer the way he has.

 

My daughter has now been told Tyson could have an mri scan today 16/01/22 and could have an operation that is going to be around £8,000!! Unfortunately Tyson is too poorly to go home today so is staying at the animal hospital to have further tests.

 

Tyson is covered by insurance but only so much so I am hoping to raise the rest for my daughter to help get her best friend the operation he desperately needs.
