UPDATE: Tyson spent over 6 months in the shelter—anxious, repeatedly injured, and always in pain. He was attacked by other dogs and never fought back. In his final month, small wounds were noted near his prepuce, needing further evaluation.
When Tyson was given a euthanasia deadline, we stepped in.
What started as small wounds quickly progressed into large, bleeding masses. Despite our efforts to get him medical care, his condition worsened. After two long weeks of uncertainty, Tyson is finally back in our care and was seen by the vet yesterday.
The prognosis is not good. His masses have grown significantly and have partially ruptured. Hemangiosarcoma is strongly suspected.
Even knowing his time may be limited, we are moving forward with surgery—to confirm diagnosis, relieve his pain, and prevent a catastrophic rupture. This is about comfort, dignity, and giving Tyson peace.
The surgery is costly, and we urgently need support. If you’re able to help—by donating or sharing—Tyson needs you.

Tyson is a 2-year-old American Bulldog with the gentlest soul. For nearly six months in the shelter, he lived in constant fear and pain. He was repeatedly attacked by other dogs—unprovoked—and never fought back, refusing to bite even while being injured. Wound after wound, the stress and trauma broke him down. Tyson declined to the highest level of fear and anxiety, and began self-harming in his kennel as his distress became unbearable.
When Tyson was finally brought into rescue, everything changed. In his loving foster home, he discovered safety, happiness, and what it means to be loved. He plays beautifully with his foster dog brother, soaks up affection from his foster parents, and for the first time, has a real chance at a forever home.
Sadly, just as Tyson’s new life was beginning, veterinary evaluation revealed large, concerning masses that now require urgent surgical removal, with fear they may be cancerous. Tyson is in pain and needs immediate medical care to relieve his suffering and protect the future he has just begun to know.
Tyson has survived more than any dog should in two short years. Please help us give this gentle boy the chance to heal and truly live.
Medical expenses are already high and if prognosis is not good it will be a long, expensive battle. Surgery prep invoice is attached (bloodwork, X-rays etc which thankfully all came back good and clear for surgery) as well as the surgical estimate.
