Tyson’s Story

A couple of weeks ago, Tyson went into the hospital thinking he had a bowel obstruction. On September 26, he had surgery to correct it — but what was supposed to be a straightforward procedure turned into something much more serious.

The doctors didn’t find a blockage after all. Instead, they found and removed a mass from his colon, along with 21 lymph nodes for testing. Tyson spent several days in the ICU after surgery and is now recovering, showing incredible courage through every step.

When the results came back, Tyson learned that the mass was colon cancer. His medical team is still determining the stage, but they plan to begin aggressive treatment in the coming weeks. For now, he’s focused on healing from surgery and regaining his strength so he can take on the next phase with everything he’s got.

Through it all, Tyson has stayed positive — determined, grateful, and full of fight. And as his family, we’re determined to help him in every way we can.
