Aid Tyson's Healing Journey and Family's Needs

UPDATE 8/16/- Tyson had surgery yesterday. The initial drainage tube through his ribs to his lung was causing infection, both at the opening and around his lung. That tube was removed. There was excess build up all around his lungs that needed extensive cleaning.. Not only was the corrosion around his lung causing infection but also inhibiting the lung to properly begin re-expanding. The infected tube was replaced with two new drainage tubes. To kill any remaining infection, he is on antibiotics. All in all the surgery was a success, but far more extensive that was expected. The other piece that is a concern is the large blood clot on his left lung. He is taking blood thinners to reduce the size and danger. Every day he will get a new ct scan to check his progress. Until he is able to breath without supplemental oxygen he will probably remain in the hospital. We are just grateful to go day by day.

I would like to start by introducing myself. My name is Lara Cirimele. I am the proud wife of Tyson and mama to our three beautiful boys; Kindred Logan, Lennox Otis and our baby Apollo Antonio. As many of you know (at least those who live in the Santa Cruz area), on Thursday, August 8, there was a shooting at the Crow's Nest. It was a random act of violence. Two people were senselessly shot; Tyson was one of them.

By the grace of God, he is alive, stable and breathing on his own; for this, I cannot find the words that adequately express my gratitude. I also want to convey my gratitude for all the healing prayers and positive vibes; those who took the time to reach out, check on Tyson, our boys and me. This has been a haunting, horrifying experience so far: the gestures of care, concern and interest in help and support have made a permanent impact in our hearts.

With that said, he will be out of work for upwards of 6 months or more. He will need physical therapy, we will have medical bills, regular drives over 17 for check-ups, etc... on top of the cost of living and providing for our children.

Throughout our marriage, Tyson has been the main source of our income always in our family. I work part time, but those hours will have to be cut as Tyson will require my consistent observation and care. Just like Apollo.

Asking for help, let alone a handout is not a natural instinct of either Tyson or mine. But desperate times call for humility and new hope.
