Hello! My name is Ty’Ree Davis, and I'm a rising senior acting major at Howard University. Since stepping onto campus, I've been deeply involved in the theatre world, serving as the Technical Director of Howard Players and elected as the CoFA Executive Council Treasurer.
I've had the privilege of participating in notable productions such as "Heathers the Musical" and "In the Blood" at the Shakespeare Theatre Company. My dedication to the arts was recognized with the Best Leading Actor award at the Owen Dodson “WEENIE” Awards for my performances in "Rhyme Deferred" and "boys don't look at boys".
Beyond acting, I am heavily involved and experienced in theatre production as well and I am currently involved in the Disney Storyteller Scholar program where I'm developing my own theatrical play and production around my play.
Recently, I've been accepted into the British American Drama Academy's Midsummer in Oxford Program, a prestigious opportunity to further refine my craft alongside distinguished professionals. I've successfully covered the tuition costs through scholarships, generous donations, and summer work as a stage manager at Young Playwrights Theatre and a lighting board operator at the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts Summer Arts Event. Now, I'm seeking assistance to fund my flight to the United Kingdom, the final step in making this transformative experience a reality.
Your contribution will not only help me attend this program but will also serve as an investment in my growth as an artist. I'm eager to immerse myself in this intensive experience, expand my artistic horizons, and continue pursuing my dreams in acting and theatre arts.
Thank you to everyone who has already supported me on this journey. Your generosity means the world to me, and I'm incredibly grateful for any further support you can provide.
Best,
Ty’Ree Davis
