Help Tyler & Zoey

Donation protected
If anyone knows me, they know my pets are my entire world. Tyler and Zoey are the ones who inspired me to start my own nonprofit animal rescue and who make everyday worth living. I spend my life helping other dogs and cats, but now it's time that I ask for help for my own little four legged babies. I am not one who usually reaches out to people but everything that has happened recently has been incredibly unexpected, on top of being financially difficult. Both Tyler and Zoey have been presented with some health and medical challenges and I am seeking help with their expenses...

Tyler: Back in August, Tyler was diagnosed with having arthritis in his back leg; then last month he started having difficulty walking. He began only walking on three legs and I was starting to get concerned, especially with Tyler being a large dog at 90 lbs. He was unable to stand for more than a few minutes at a time and it was very clear he was in pain. After bringing him into the vet, the doctor said he had severe muscle loss and they recommended a series of blood tests, x-rays, and immediate pain management with three different meds and injections. The x-rays came back and we learned that Tyler has a torn cruciate ligament, in addition to cruciate disease in both knees. In order to fix this problem, he will need a TPLO surgery, which basically consists of inserting steel plates and screws into his leg and making a cut in his tibia. This is extremely costly but in order for Tyler to be able to walk again, it's what is needed. His surgery is scheduled for November 22nd.

Zoey: We have been dealing with an unknown medical issue with Zoey over the last three years. On multiple occasions she has gotten very sick to the point she looses her mobility, is unable to eat & drink, and becomes incontinent. Test after test, no vet or doctor has been unable to determine the reason behind this mystery. We've actually been told on three separate occasions to euthanize her but she fights back every time. Yesterday, October 14th, was a regular day for Zoey - she went about her normal activities - eating, drinking, etc. Then, around 7pm, she suddenly collapsed (she was vomiting, incontinent, had labored breathing, and was foaming at the mouth) and was immediately rushed to the ER. Her blood sugar was at an alarming 519 (should be between 80-120), her red blood cell count was at 19% (should be at 33%) and she was unable to breathe properly on her own. She was quickly put on oxygen and an IV was put in for immediate fluids. After further testing, we learned that Zoey is unable to generate blood on her own right now and needed an emergency blood transfusion. She has recently returned home after spending nearly 24 hours in the intensive care unit at the ER undergoing further testing to figure out what is going on. At this time, we are waiting on the results. We are hoping to finally get down to the bottom of what is wrong with Zoey after many years of trying, various tests, and thousands of dollars.

I tried to summarize their stories the best I could. There is so much more I could say but both of my fur babies need help right now. This is a huge financial undertaking, all at the same time nonetheless, and something we were certainly not prepared for. I understand it's a large goal but any bit helps. We know times are difficult so we are grateful for anything you can give. If you do not want to donate via GoFundMe, donations can be sent directly to their veterinarians (in this case, there are no fees -go fund me does take a small percentage - and it will go direct to their medical bills):
  • Tyler - Bethel Veterinary Hospital - (203) [phone redacted]
  • Zoey - Newtown Veterinary Specialists - (203) [phone redacted] --> At this time, Zoey has been discharged and we have already paid the invoice so donations can no longer be applied. Anything incurred from go fund me will be put towards her bills

Thank you for supporting Tyler and Zoey - we appreciate it more than you know! ♡
