Help Tyler with Recovery and Medical Bills

Donation protected
It has been a rough couple of months for our family, and especially for Tyler!

In March, Tyler got sick with a viral eye infection. After seeing both a doctor and a specialist he was finally given the correct diagnosis and recieved the treatment needed to recover from that, but almost immediately a boil began to develop on the back of his head. This was extremely painful, and continued to grow and get worse over the course of a couple of weeks. Because of the placement of the boil, he couldn't put pressure on the back of his head, which made sleep extremely difficult.

Between the pain and fatigue Tyler was wearing down quickly. The difficult part about a boil is that it takes time for it to develop enough to drain and heal. Luckily, he had already taken time off for Spring break, but instead of having fun with family, he used this time to apply daily compresses and hopefully speed up the healing process.

Another blow came when he received word during his week off, that his business was closing shop and his job was coming to an end! An investor had backed out last minute, leaving he and his partners without the funds needed to continue operations or payroll.

Over the next few days his health began to decline. He started to experience weakness, loss of appetite, rapid weight loss, decreased cognitive ability, and shortness of breath. These are definitely not normal symptoms for a boil! We took him to the local hospital where it was determined that he had both diabetic ketoacidosis and a staph infection in his blood! He was admitted to the ICU and stayed in the hospital for the next 5 days!

He received remarkable treatment at the Spanish Fork Hospital and we are so grateful for each of the doctors and nurses who attentively cared for his needs. This photo was taken the day he was released to go home.

At home, care continued with insulin shots for his diabetes and antibiotics 3 times a day through a PICC for his staph infection as well as wound care for his boil.

He has been home for nearly a month now, and is finally getting strong enough to start looking for a job! We are so grateful for the meals, service, love, and generosity our friends and family have offered during this challenging time for our family.

The hospital bills are starting to show up now. Because Tyler is just starting his search for work, we are unsure when we will begin to receive income again.

If you are looking for a good cause to donate a few dollars toward, we could definitely use a little help covering these hospital bills.

Thank you for your love and support!
