Tyler is only 28 years old, and his life has been turned upside down by something doctors are still trying to fully understand. What started as unexplained pain became a devastating and complex medical emergency. Tyler developed a massive blood clot in his aorta in his abdomen, blocking nearly 95% of the blood flow. Even more frightening, smaller clots had been breaking off and traveling into the three main arteries in his leg. Doctors now believe this may have been happening silently for years without anyone knowing.
When things suddenly took a turn, we rushed Tyler to the ER. He was first airlifted to a hospital in Springfield, Missouri, where doctors performed emergency surgery in an attempt to save his leg. They worked to clear the blocked veins and removed part of the clot from his aorta.
We came home believing the worst was behind us, that Tyler was going to be okay.
Just two days later, everything changed again.
We found ourselves back in the ER in Fayetteville. Tyler’s leg had developed gas and a severe infection, and it had become life-threatening. Within hours, he was airlifted once more, this time to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. There, doctors made it clear that the priority was no longer just his leg; it was saving his life.
Tyler underwent an emergency surgery to remove the entire blood clot from his aorta. This was the most critical step to keep him alive.
A few days later, after everything his body had endured, the reality we feared became unavoidable. His foot was no longer receiving circulation. It was slowly dying.
Tyler underwent an amputation of his right leg, 7 inches below the knee. We have now been told twice that it is a miracle Tyler is still alive. In a matter of days, his life changed forever.
The physical pain has been overwhelming, but the emotional weight is just as heavy. At 28, Tyler should be building his future, chasing his goals, and living life without limits. Instead, he is facing a long road of recovery, learning how to live differently, and trying to process something that still feels like a medical mystery.
And still, Tyler keeps fighting! Every day, he shows a strength that inspires everyone around him. He is pushing through recovery, learning how to adapt, and holding onto hope that he will walk again, that he will regain his independence and rebuild the life he loves.
But he cannot do this alone.
The financial burden is overwhelming. Between multiple emergency flights, surgeries, hospital stays, and ongoing rehabilitation, the medical bills are quickly piling up. On top of that, a prosthetic leg, something essential for Tyler to walk again, can cost tens of thousands of dollars along with fittings and future replacements.
This is about more than a prosthetic.
It is about giving Tyler his freedom back. It is about dignity, independence, and the chance to stand on his own again.
We are asking for your help to support Tyler during this life-changing journey.
Your donation will go toward medical bills and hospital expenses, rehabilitation and physical therapy, a prosthetic leg and fittings, and ongoing care as Tyler rebuilds his life.
No amount is too small. Every single donation helps move Tyler one step closer to walking again.
If you are unable to give, please consider sharing his story. That alone can make a huge difference.
Tyler has lost part of his leg, but he has not lost his strength, his spirit, or his will to keep going.
Let’s come together and help him stand again.
