From his mother: Jan 2, 2022- I will forever be grateful for the outpouring support from friends, family, and the Cherry Street community that's has become our friends and family. My son Tyler fought hard and made it through a motorcycle accident that should have killed him on October 17, 2021. Tonight Tylers fight was out of our hands and we lost him to a blood clot.. Our family is heart broken and devastated and we need a little time to recover. Please pray for his children. They'll need peace and comfort in the upcoming days months and years. I'm so thankful for all of you who helped provide gifts so hat they have memories of the best, last Christmas ever with their daddy. Please keep our family and Tyler's children in your thoughts and prayers as we try to recover from this devastating heartbreak we are all enduring. Please pray for my broken mama heart. I love you Tyler Poteat. You're out of pain and have peace. 3/12/90-1/2/2022
For those of you who have not yet heard Tyler was involved in an absolutely horrible motorcycle accident today. He is alive but struggling in the hospital undergoing constant surgery all evening and night. I do not have pictures from the wreck but will be working with the police to get those.

Here is the information directly from the doctors to his mother.
He is having 4 hr surgery on his spine to relieve pressure from a fracture at T6. Then external fixture surgery on his right ankle. Possible Left hand, left ankle, and both shoulder blades broke.
Update:
The neurosurgeon finished his part of the surgery on his spine. He removed all the bone fragments compressing on his spinal cord. They put in screws to stabilize the spine and keep space. He's still in surgery but with the orthopedic for his ankle/s and left hand.
Tyler was found conscious which breaks my heart even more. I can only imagine the pain he was in. I do not have any updates to his in/out of consciousness only that he could not feel or control anything from his ribs down. Doctors have said he may be paralyzed. I do not know the condition of anything except the above described. I am hoping his head and face are ok...it certainly sounds like the rest of his body is broken and in need of a miracle.
Tyler has not had life the easiest. He has an amazing and loving family, two beautiful babies, and the talent to debate like no other on Earth. I have been close friends with Tyler since he was just a teenager. I've watched him grow into a man, a father, and a helluva salesman. He and I have been through thick and thin.... and above all else, he is unwaveringly loyal.
It breaks my heart knowing I cannot save him from this one...and this is the one he needs the most saving.
More than anything he needs us to keep him in our thoughts and prayers as well as his family. He was already having a tough time before adding this nightmare to his hurdles in life. I usually do not do go fund me. I'm not a big believer in lost dogs needing go fund me or people who refuse to actively seek employment and need money cuz they need a pack of smokes....but Tyler NEEDS us. His kids need us. Yes, he has a family that will undoubtedly step in and help...but this is bad...very bad. His kids need everything growing babies need, his wife will need everything to take care of them, and he...Lord knows he needs right now. A lot. More than money. If you can spare $20... $5...$1 dollar... nothing is too small. Please please keep Tyler and his family in your prayers...he is not in the clear yet and his path to recovery...whatever that means is going to be absolutely horrible. Contact me for any updates, questions, etc. A huge thanks from Dane and his Lakeside family, his family, and his wife and kids.
