This sweet boys name is Tyler. When I was pregnant his dad and I were told he has a neural tube defect called Encephalocele. Basically where the skull doesn't close fully and brain matter can grow into a sac covered with skin. We were sent to a specialist and was told Tyler wouldn't survive outside the womb and we should terminate the pregnancy. We decided not to and to carry to term to at least hold our sweet boy. Because of the specialist saying he wasn't going to make it we didn't get anything to prepare to have a newborn. The day of my c-section, Tyler came out crying. We were so blessed. We got to take Tyler home to spend what time we had with him with hospice care. Tyler as of now is doing well. We have a upcoming appointment with UofM (4 hour drive) Neurology Surgeon to see about what the next step would be. If UofM can help, we would be driving back and forth for him to be seen. If UofM wont be able to help we have a second opinion at Boston Children's Hospital. Their consult costs $850 out of pocket. IF they can help we would have to travel to Boston Massachusetts (12 hour drive). Due to not being able to afford Christmas this year, we definitely wont be able to afford taking Tyler to the care he needs. Usually we never ask for help, were usually the ones to give help so this is unusual for my husband and I. With me out of work at the moment and my husband taking time off to be here with Tyler, were behind on some expenses. We appreciate all the love and prayers everyone has sent to us! Thank you so much!
