Help Tyler Greene Heal After a Tragic Shooting at South Turn Sports Bar

Sometimes, you can give everything—your heart, your energy, your money, your dreams—to build something beautiful for your community. But all it takes is one senseless act to shatter it.

On the night of Friday, June 20th, around 11:00 PM, a drunk patron at South Turn Sports Bar began harassing customers and was asked to leave. He returned a short time later, and the owners again asked him to leave the property. But instead of walking away, he pulled out a gun.

In an instant, he opened fire on the owners and three guests standing outside the entrance.

Tyler Greene, one of the owners, was shot twice—first in the ankle, which caused a compound fracture, and then again in the lower back as he struggled to get to safety. He collapsed in front of the restaurant he loves and works so hard to make successful and enjoyable for our community.

The gunman fled the scene, leaving behind chaos, pain, and a man fighting for his life. Miraculously, retired military veterans who were on-site rushed to help, applying a tourniquet to Tyler’s ankle and likely saving his life. Without their quick actions, the outcome could have been far worse.

Tyler was rushed into emergency surgery that night. Since then, he’s endured another surgery on June 24th, and has another one scheduled next week. When he is released from the hospital he will spend weeks in a rehab facility, followed by what doctors say will be a long and difficult

road to recovery with a lot of physical therapy. But the physical pain isn’t the only challenge Tyler faces.

Tyler has no health insurance and won’t be able to return to work for months. As medical bills pile up and everyday expenses remain, he needs our help more than ever.
