Tyler Clapp, our best friend, is facing a challenge that no one should have to endure. At just 35, Tyler has already survived open heart surgery and the overwhelming expenses that came with it. Now, only three years later, he’s been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma—a rare blood cancer that affects just 1 in 100,000 people his age. The cancer caused a mass on his spine, leading to multiple fractured vertebrae and a difficult back surgery, with the possibility of more surgeries ahead. Despite all of this, Tyler’s spirit remains strong as he undergoes weekly treatments in a clinical trial at Vanderbilt. In February, he’ll need to stay in Nashville for a month to continue his fight.
This fundraiser is to help cover Tyler’s mounting medical bills, ongoing treatments, and the costs of his stay in Nashville. Even after insurance, his medical expenses continue to grow. Every dollar raised will go directly to ensuring Tyler gets the best care possible, giving him the chance to focus on healing and hope for the future.
I would ask those who know Tyler to make a selfless and aggressive donation. I would also ask those who don’t know Tyler to consider donating.
Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Acts 20:35 (Paul quoting Jesus) In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ A famous reminder that giving brings greater blessing.
Your support—no matter the amount—will make a real difference in Tyler’s fight. His annual expenses are roughly $20k after insurance. Thank you for standing with us and helping Tyler get the care he deserves.
