Help Tyler and Zavier Through This Critical Time

Tyler is a single father and account manager on the DaySmart Vet team. Over the past year, Tyler's son, Zavier, has faced immense health challenges that have kept him in and out of hospitals.

Zavier was born with two rare conditions: Omphalocele (a condition where organs develop outside the body) and Bronchomalacia (a condition that causes the airways to collapse). These have made it a year-long battle to get him back to a healthy, happy baby life.

Recently, after leaving Tucson, Arizona, to reunite with family in Northern Illinois, Zavier became critically ill during the trip. He went into septic shock with a fever of 107°F and had to be airlifted to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where he and Tyler are currently staying.

Tyler is grateful to be able to work remotely and stay by Zavier's side, and is also grateful to be a part of a team with leaders whose understanding and empathy have made things unimaginably easier to focus on what matters most: Zavier’s recovery and eventual transfer to Chicago to be closer to family.
