On November 20th two brothers local to Emo ON, Tyler and Jon Kinnear, lost everything they own in a devastating house fire. Tyler and Jon built their home with their own hands on a piece of property they purchased just North East of Emo. Their home was a true labor of love, and they were happily living their vision of being close to and in tune with nature. It is hard to imagine how truly shocking and heartbreaking a loss like this is until you witness it first hand.
The fire sparked due to a stove pipe incident while no one was home, and being far from neighbors, roads and traffic, was not discovered until it was too late. When they arrived home later that day it was to the realization that absolutely everything they had ever owned or worked for had been lost. The most heartbreaking loss of all their precious pet cat George who was trapped inside and unfortunately did not make it out.
Due to the location of the home, the fact that there was no road access making it impossible for emergency services to access, the house was uninsurable against fire. There will be no financial assistance coming from an insurance company to help replace what was lost or rebuild.
Anyone who knows Tyler or Jon personally knows that they are the type of people who give selflessly and love to offer their help around our community wherever they can. It would be beyond heart warming to witness our community come together and raise enough funds to help these boys rebuild and start over in the spring.
