Help Tyler Achieve His Drum Corps Dream

Hey everyone! My name is Tyler and I am currently a senior in high school in the Houston, Texas area. I have recently been contracted to perform with Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps as a drum major for the 2025 season for my rookie year of performing and I'm incredibly excited about this opportunity!

Drum Corps is a nationwide youth-focused educational activity for young musicians and performers in the marching arts. Taking place every summer, these groups, known as corps, are made up of 165 performers in brass, color guard, conductor, and percussion disciplines who share an experience each season that teaches them teamwork, leadership, and accountability and perform their productions under the activity's governing circuit, Drum Corps International (DCI), which is the highest level of the music and pageantry arts in the world for tens of thousands of people. This life-changing educational opportunity comes with a significant financial obligation and supporting performers like me helps continue to make these experiences possible for all of us by contributing to our tuition that funds the corps' travel and operations, housing, equipment, and food for our summer tour. By supporting performers like myself, you are playing a crucial role in keeping this activity strong and enabling it to continue to inspire audiences and cultivate the next generation of performers.

Ever since I discovered drum corps it became my biggest dream to one day earn the right to be a world-class performer. In the 2024 season, I was given the incredible opportunity to travel with Genesis as a member of their media team and capture their incredible moments of performance, passion, and dedication, and it inspired me to finally chase that dream myself and join this amazing community of talented young artists. The marching arts have taught me so much more than simply how to play a melody or hit a dot. It's taught me the gift of community, the power of pride, and the privilege of performance, and I am honored to have been presented with a chance to inspire those lessons for future performers.
