Help Ty move to Basketball Academy & College
Donation protected
Hi Everyone, my name is Ty and my long-term aim is to play basketball at as high a level as possible (hopefully professionally). It has been a dream of mine to play at a basketball academy for quite a while and it is the next step of the pathway for me. I have not always been a naturally gifted player but I aim to scrap, grind and earn my way into the game for as long as possible.
Over the last few years, I have been working hard to improve my game and study hard to get the grades needed. I have now been given a place at Myerscough College on the Sports (and basketball) Studies course near Preston starting in September.
Myerscough is one of the top academies in the country and is the dream academy for me. However, it is 126 miles away from home and I am going to have to move into student accommodation. Accommodation and food are going to cost around £6000 a year and this doesn’t take into account registration fees, kit/clothing, laundry, need of a new laptop and other living costs.
My parents have been fantastic at covering the costs of kit, training/game fees and travel over the years but this is a significant step up in costs. Therefore, over the last couple of years, I have been saving any money I have received to help towards the costs. I have also recently been doing a number of small jobs for local businesses to try and build the pot of money. I aim to raise as much as I can to make sure I can make this next step as successful as possible and reduce the burden on my parents.
I will put everything into making it a success and would love to share the highlights with you all. The truth is, I could really use your help on the next step of the journey. Any donation, large or small would help me significantly. I can’t describe how grateful I would be.
