Help Ty Get Seizure Free
Donation protected
Ty Kranz is many things in this world- an incredible mother, a loving partner, a devoted community advocate, a psychology major seeking a MA in Counseling and later on a PhD in Neuropsychology to further expand her ability to support communities that have supported her. Ty is an Indigenous mixed member of Raramuri descent, a poet, artist and designer, and has been living with epilepsy majority of her life.
Ty was diagnosed with epilepsy at a young age, and had a brain surgery at 16 to remove a large cyst, they said this procedure would help end seizures. Within a couple years they did stop, and Ty lived seizure free for 8 years.
However, after her son Rayénari's birth 3 years ago, the seizures returned and have been relentless, impairing Ty's entire life, being unable to drive, work safely, live alone, or do essential daily tasks.
Ty's longest seizures have lasted up to 11 minutes in and out really having Ty miss work, unable to work and live life as necessary.
In an effort to find relief and be able to live a normal life with her son and partner, Ty is undergoing clinical testing for an on October 22nd for 5-7 days to determine the source and type of seizures which will allow a team of neurologists to understand which procedure will help, once again, stop the seizures.
During this week long hospitalization, Ty will be taken off seizure meds and put through a series of grueling tests to induce seizures so they can be studied and then decide on a type of RNS or VNS implant, Brain surgery or medication that can help. It will be an incredibly hard time for Ty as well as her family and loved ones and we are seeking help from our communities in the form of financial and emotional support to get through.
This financial aid will provide Ty and her caretakers with food, gas money for daily travel between home and hospital, and help with bills and rent.
Our goal for this hospitalization is $2,500 and we find this will be a good amount to support Ty's end of responsibilities. When we have a treatment developed and surgery date set for Ty, we will be creating a new gofundme account to support the expenses of care and recovery for Ty.
