Hello! Thank you for clicking. I’m a disabled transgender artist living with my partner in Chicago, Illinois. We are currently sharing a bedroom in a two-bedroom apartment and splitting our half of rent with a third person, because we were both desperate to escape the abuse of our childhood homes. I suffer from chronic fatigue and multiple cognitive disabilities, as well as severe cPTSD symptoms. My partner also deals with fatigue and mental health issues. I’ve been out of stable work for a couple of years now, doing gig work as I’m able in order to pay for groceries.

My mental and physical health has improved considerably ever since I moved into the city, and I have finally achieved a level of independence and autonomy I have previously only dreamed of.

However, my partner recently lost her job and we are not able to cover our share of the rent for our apartment. She’s had interviews for new jobs, but no concrete offers as of now. So far, we’ve been getting by on the generosity of friends and family, but this is not a sustainable solution. We’ve been going into debt and borrowing money from loved ones that we cannot feasibly pay back any time soon, and monthly bills continue to pile up. All we need is a chance to get our heads above water again until my partner or I can find stable employment.
