Hey everyone.
Our names are Grim and Riley, and we're two queer people trying our hardest to repay our debts and start a new life somewhere with more job opportunities.
At the moment, we are dealing with debt that is keeping us financially tied to our current living situation, and now our van has decided to cease functioning, leaving us PHYSICALLY tied to our current living situation.
Long story short, we're stuck here, and already working as much as we can without burning ourselves out or causing any serious mental/physical harm. We have always wanted to keep matters like this to ourselves, but at this point, it's clear that we have no other options. We have attempted a GoFundMe in the past and have raised a couple hundred dollars for the same debt, but I (Grim) felt too shameful asking for assistance and decided to close it. Any money raised from then already went towards helping us repay that debt, and we're still extremely thankful.
Here is a cost breakdown:
$4000 for debt owed to landlord for back rent and utilities.
$3000 for either potential car repairs or investment into a new (used) vehicle.
We have already concluded that $1-3k is the low end for what the repairs might cost. We have scheduled an appointment to get another opinion, but regardless, this car is worth far, far less than any cost greater than our estimate. It's a very real possibility that we might just have to get rid of it and find something new.
If we manage to reach the goal and have extra, all remaining funds will be used for other bills/debts that take less priority than these.
Anything helps, including a share. We can't thank you enough for your time in reading this, or even just clicking and stopping by.
We understand everyone is going through a lot right now, and we ask that you (obviously) prioritize yourself if you are unable to help financially. But if you have the means to spare a dollar or two, it would mean the world to us.
Thank you so, so much, once more.
Love,
Grim & Riley
