Help grieving mama and her dog find a forever home

Donation protected
Aloha everyone who has taken the time to read our story and request for donations.
My name is Cindy Kuulani Teixeira and I was born and raised on the island of Kauai. Papa Johnny is 16 and Smiley Miley 11, both are from Kauai as well. I attribute their longevity to my preparing home made meals for them when we had a home.
We, the dogs and I, are currently living in a California Walmart parking lot where we have been since June of this year. A significant delay in acquiring my California Massage License and our Volvo breaking down has led us to these circumstances. I have been a licensed massage therapist for over 24 years in Hawaii and in recent years Utah and Montana. I began my healing career at a very young age. Specializing in Hawaiian lomi-lomi, reiki, deep tissue and other specific therapeutic modalities that have healed many, including dogs. Please consider helping my dogs and I be an inspiration for others.
We’re accepting donations to help us with expenses until we return to Kauai where I plan to work at an animal sanctuary as a live in dog handler.
In April of 2024 I applied for my California massage therapy license, which is still currently under review as of September 5th, 2024.
Despite our challenges we are remaining positive and keeping the faith. We need donations, help and prayers as we find the safest path home to Kauai.
The Volvo needs a new alternator and the code reader says cylinder #4 which could be an easy fix (spark plug) or a blown head gasket.
I can get us an inexpensive hotel for $109 per night here in California for six weeks, as this is how long it will take for the test results and permits to return to Kauai. Both my dogs are certified as my service animals and will be traveling on board the airplane with me. To bypass quarantine (as Hawaii is a rabies free state) I need to get specific tests and results done here before flying.  The 5 cities homeless coalition has graciously covered the cost of the tests which is over $1,000.  They will also help with airfare for myself.
I have not been able to keep up on our storage on Kauai which has irreplaceable items. It will be up for auction on 9/19/2024.
When I return to Kauai, I will need to reinstate my Hawaii Massage Therapist License.

I want to keep my primary heart’s focus on Papa Johnny, Smiley Miley and a safe home for the three of us.
If anyone can help in any way, including sending love and peace our way, know that we will be extremely grateful.
Mahalo nui loa. Aunty Cindy, Papa Johnny and Smiley Miley
