Help Two Lifelong Givers Rebuild After House Fire

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Christina, and I am one of four daughters on whose behalf I am sharing this fundraiser.

On Saturday, January 10th, our parents’ home caught fire.

They are safe. They were able to get themselves (and their beloved cat, Kar-el) out in time. For that, we are profoundly grateful.

The house has since been condemned by the city, and they are now suddenly displaced.

Our parents are both in their 70s. Our mom retired less than two weeks ago, on December 31, 2025. Our dad is still working, even though retirement should already be his season. Together, they have spent their entire adult lives serving others...through their church, their community, and countless quiet acts of generosity never done for recognition.

They are not people who ask for help. Ever.

In fact, if you asked them how they’re doing, they’d likely turn the conversation around...asking how you are, and figuring out how they can help instead. But the truth is that no one should have to navigate the sudden loss of their home, especially at this stage of life.

Growing up, our parents always taught us to be caring, compassionate, giving, kind, and also to “let others bless you.”

This is one of those moments.

Right now, they are facing the immediate realities of displacement, navigating insurance, and figuring out what comes next after losing the place that held decades of memories, gatherings, and ordinary, sacred life.

We are raising funds to help cover:
• Temporary housing and living expenses
• Replacement of essential belongings
• Unexpected costs not covered by insurance
• Support as they begin the long process of rebuilding stability

We set this goal based on the immediate costs of displacement, and expenses not fully covered by insurance. The aim is to give our parents stability and breathing room during an uncertain and overwhelming transition; not excess, just support where it’s needed most.

If you’re able to give, please know that your generosity will go directly toward easing an overwhelming burden during an already painful time. If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this or keeping them in your thoughts and prayers means so very much.

Our parents have spent their lives showing up for others. Now we are asking, gently and gratefully, for others to show up for them.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us bless two people who have given so much.

With deep gratitude,
Christina, Rebecca, Sarah, and Martha aka "The Evans Girls"
