Hi, my name is Zissy. I’m 17 years old and have been lucky enough to spend the past few years working closely with children who have special needs. This work has become more than just a part of my life—it’s become a part of who I am.

Over time, I’ve formed deep and special connections with two incredible girls, both of whom have touched my heart in ways words can’t fully express. Today, I’m reaching out to ask for your help in giving them a summer filled with joy, friendship, and the love they so deeply deserve.

One of these girls has Down syndrome and faces many behavioral and social challenges. Because of her unique needs, it’s hard to find people who are able—and willing—to spend the time and patience she requires. I’ve spent many wonderful hours with her swimming, biking, ice skating, and simply enjoying the world together.

Sadly, her family is now facing serious financial struggles and can no longer afford to send her to camp. For a child like her, being at home all summer—without structure, stimulation, or social interaction—would be especially difficult and isolating.

The second girl is a bright, gentle 14-year-old who uses a wheelchair and lives apart from her family due to a complicated home situation. Camp is her safe place—something she looks forward to all year. It’s where she feels included, supported, and free to just be a kid. But this summer, like the first girl, she’ll only be able to go if we can make it happen together.

That’s why I’ve taken it upon myself to raise £7,000—£3,500 for each of them—to give these two remarkable girls the summer of a lifetime at Camp Horizon.

Camp Horizon is more than just a camp. It’s a place built for children with special needs, where they can feel confident, cared for, and happy. Every donation—no matter how big or small—will go directly towards making this dream a reality for these girls.
