Help TWO HF-L Odyssey of the Mind Teams go to WF!

We can hardly believe it! Two of our HF-L Odyssey of the Mind teams have won their state competition and are advancing to the World Finals in East Lansing, Michigan! This is only the second time that a team from Honeoye Falls has attended World Finals and the FIRST time that HF-L will be represented by TWO teams!

Big dreams come at big costs. We are grateful for the support of our families, community members and school. Our teams hope to compete with the most creative minds in the world. Will you help to make their dreams a reality? We continue to raise funds to help pay for registration fees, lodging and transportation of our props!

Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving competition that challenges teams of students to solve STEM problems (build a balsa wood structure that holds 400lbs, or design a vehicle that can complete a series of tasks), create a unique performance and build all of their props, costumes and solutions completely on their own. This program teaches children to think creatively, engage as a team, and view the world from a completely unique perspective.

Our two teams are made up of twelve curious kiddos ages 10-12. The World Finals experience is a four-day event designed to engage creative minds from all over the world. Our teams from Manor School and HF-L Middle School will have the opportunity to participate as "Buddy Teams", to engage in an international exchange with other OM participants. Imagine the experience: students will stay in dorms, perform their solutions at a highly competitive level, and learn from other children from around the country and the world! This is a dream come true!
