Help Two Families Reach Safety in California
I'm reaching out during an incredibly difficult time for two families who need our help.
A month ago, two sisters found themselves in an unimaginable situation when their husbands were arrested by ICE and deported to Mexico. Left alone with five young children between them (ages 4, 6, 8, 9, and 11), they've been staying with me here in Kentucky fearing their lives while trying to figure out their next steps.
For their safety and privacy, I cannot share their names or identifying details publicly.
These families are terrified and traumatized. The mothers are doing everything they can to stay strong for their children, but they're living in constant fear and uncertainty. They have family in California who can provide them with long-term support and stability, but they have no way to get there safely and I cant afford to continue to support them on my own or even come up with extra money to get them safe to California.
What we need:
- Vehicle rental for the journey from Kentucky to California
- Gas and food for the trip
- Hotel for overnight stay
- Basic supplies and essentials for the children
- Emergency funds to help them get settled until they can access additional resources
I've been doing everything I can to support them, but after a month, I simply cannot continue to provide for seven additional people on my own. These are good people who just want to keep their children safe and together.
