On the morning of August 19, 2025, a devastating fire broke out at a home on Carlton Street in Peabody, Massachusetts, leaving two families displaced and with nothing. The fire was so severe that the home was declared a total loss.

Among those affected are my cousin, her husband, their children, and another close family who lived downstairs. Together, they worked so hard to make this house a home. They had only recently bought it, poured their love into painting it, fixing it up, and making it truly theirs. Now, in an instant, all of that was taken away.

While thankfully everyone is safe, the families lost so much News that filled their home with comfort and memories. They are now facing the unimaginable challenge of starting over, with nowhere permanent to stay as they wait for insurance and next steps.

This tragedy has already been covered in the news, and the photos show just how devastating the fire was. But behind the headlines are two families who need our help.
