Help Melbourne & Moses Break Barriers and Build a Brighter
Future Through Education
We’re reaching out to compassionate hearts like yours to help two exceptional young brothers, Melbourne and Moses, from inner-city Kingston, Jamaica, take the next bold step toward a brighter future: a university education at UTECH.
These incredible young men have already beaten the odds overcoming more in their 18+ years than most do in a lifetime. Now, they’re on the edge of something extraordinary, and your support could change everything. Breaking Cycles, Building Legacies
Melbourne and Moses are the first males in their family to graduate high school and sixth form and with your help, they’ll be the first to attend university.
Melbourne, a student at Excelsior High School, is completing Grade 13 despite facing a major mental health crisis in Grade 11. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he endured a month-long hospitalization, took a 3-month break, and still returned to school, successfully earning five CXC passes and four CAPE Unit 1 subjects. He’s been accepted to UTECH to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, determined to contribute to Jamaica’s economic development.
Moses, his younger brother and fellow Grade 13 student at Camperdown High, is equally resilient. He too passed five CXCs and four CAPE subjects, and has also been accepted to study Business Administration at UTECH.
In 2023, both brothers were recognized by the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) as two of 63 outstanding former wards of the state across Jamaica a testament to their perseverance, academic excellence, and leadership.
Government Cutbacks, Dreams at Risk
Sadly, the Jamaican government no longer covers tuition for former wards of the state. While CPFSA will provide books, Melbourne and Moses now face an impossible choice: crippling student debt or walking away from their dreams.
We’re raising £4,600 (approx. $6,200 USD) to cover their first year of tuition and ancillary fees. They’re actively looking for part-time work to help with living expenses, but they need your help now to secure their education.
How You Can Help: Every donation big or small brings them closer to their goal. If you can’t give right now, please consider sharing this campaign with your network.
Donate today and be part of this powerful story of resilience and transformation.
Help Melbourne and Moses lead their family and community into a new generation of opportunity.
Together, we can help them break the cycle of intergenerational poverty and rise as future leaders, role models, and changemakers.
With deep gratitude,
Moira Morgan (Friend & Advocate)
