Hi, my name is Beth and this is my family's cat, Twister (though we call him Twiggy most of the time). He is the sweetest, most loving cat, and an absolute pillar in my family, loved by all of us.

We are trying to raise money to cover the cost of an urgent, escalating medical investigation to diagnose the cause of Twiggy's pain and immobility.

The Diagnostic Emergency

Recently, Twiggy suddenly started hobbling around on just three legs and went off his food. My mum rushed him to the vet, and after initial X-rays, our home vet suspected a severe hip fracture that would require complex surgery.

Crucial Update: Today (30/10/2025), Twiggy was seen by a specialist referral orthopaedic vet. This vet performed new scans and sedation, and they disagree with the initial diagnosis. This means we don't yet have an answer for why Twiggy is in such severe pain.

The specialist has started Twiggy on strong medication while they find the cause of the problem.

Our Financial Need

Insurance Coverage: Our insurance & help from family will cover approximately £2,000-£2,500 of the total emergency bill, depending on how much we can raise amongst ourselves. However, so far our insurance company has opened three separate claims for this emergency, so we do not yet know what the final insurance bill will be.

Our Fundraising Goal: We need to raise around £2,000 to ensure Twiggy gets the definitive diagnosis and immediate treatment he needs, regardless of whether that is a severe infection or another hidden injury.

My family isn't well off, and this unexpected bill is beyond what we can afford. No pet should have to suffer, or be put down, because their family can't afford the cost of finding out what's wrong.

Why We Need Your Help

Twiggy is a cat full of love and personality: he always runs down the front path, meowing when I get home. He greets every new person with purrs and headbutts, and he's at his happiest when he's curled up on our laps in the evening.
