Hey, it’s Twig!
First, I want to acknowledge something important: last year, so many of you showed up for me in a huge way. After being doxxed and threatened for speaking up against Christian Nationalism and TPUSA, my previous GoFundMe raised about $8,000, and that support quite literally kept me afloat. Because of you, I was able to do this work full time for roughly 4.5 months from September -January. Traveling, organizing, interviewing, and co-founding The Civic Roadshow without having to immediately choose between activism and survival.
That support mattered more than I can fully express. It gave me time, stability, and the ability to say yes to the work that feels most aligned with my values.
Over the past month, I’ve continued traveling across the country as a co-founder of The Civic Roadshow, meeting people where they are and having real conversations about civic engagement, labor, organizing, and what democracy actually looks like on the ground. This has included coast-to-coast travel, union benefit shows, interviews with organizers, artists, candidates and creating content that helps make politics feel accessible and human.
You may know me online for my humor — including jokes and videos about selling feet pics to MAGA men. I use comedy because it opens doors and lowers defenses. But the reality behind the jokes is this: I don’t consistently monetize my content, and I continue to struggle to pay my bills month to month.
Activism doesn’t come with a paycheck. Travel costs add up quickly. Emotional labor is real. And while I’m proud of what I’ve helped build, and the impact this work has had, I’m at a point where I need help again to keep going.
Funds raised through this GoFundMe will help cover:
• Basic living expenses (bills, utilities, food)
• Day-to-day costs, especially mental and physical health care
• Travel and logistical support so I can continue moving alongside The Civic Roadshow and promoting civic engagement across the country
This work has already helped amplify worker voices, support union efforts, document civic moments, and remind people that participation matters. ESPECIALLY when the system feels broken. I believe deeply in what we’re building, and I want to continue without burning out or falling behind on basic needs.
If you’re able to contribute, thank you. If you’ve already given once, please know your support made real, tangible impact. And if you can’t donate, sharing this is powerful too.
THANK YOU. I love you. YOU make this possible.
Twig
