Twerky’s Cancer Fund

If you know me, you know how much I love my dog Twerky. She's been my best friend and sidekick since 2013, and many of you have had the pleasure of snuggling her or petting her velvety soft head. My sweet girl has been very sick these past few months, and the vet can't figure out what is wrong with her. She has been urinating blood since February, and has been on 4 rounds of antibiotics but the problem seems to be getting worse and worse.

She has been to the vet 7 times in the last 4 months and they still can't figure out what the problem is and how to treat her.

Here is the breakdown of her vet visits:

In February she started peeing blood and I brought her in, they did a uranalysis and put her on antibiotics. It went away for a couple of weeks but came back in March so they gave me another antibiotic. By April it started to get really bad so we had to get her X-rays to look for kidney stones- the X-rays came back unremarkable but the urine culture revealed E-Coli in her bladder, so we started on a more aggressive antibiotic, this time an injection that she was to get every two weeks. By May 11 the bleeding was so bad that I brought her in ahead of her injection appointment, and they switched me to the "last resort" antibiotic and scheduled ultrasounds for the following week. Now we have to wait and see the results of the ultrasounds and the most recent urine culture, which they were supposed to call me with yesterday but nobody has called me yet.

My biggest fear is that they're going to call me after all of this and say "we didn't find anything wrong." Because something clearly is wrong and once we figure it out we can proceed. Right now I feel like I'm in a stalemate with all this back and forth and not making any progress, meanwhile I'm watching my dog suffer every single day and it's killing me. Her pee isn't even pee anymore, it's just blood, and it looks painful. It's breaking my heart.

As for me, all of these visits are going on my credit card which is maxed out. One of my two jobs closed down last week, so I'm only working part time now and I'm in the process of applying for summer internships, which would hinder my ability to work more. Until I secure an internship and find out if it's going to be paid or unpaid I can't really do anything to figure out how I'm going to afford to live this summer, and with the added stress of all these vet visits I'm in a very precarious situation. I normally wouldn't ask for help if I had any other options, so I hope you can understand my dilemma and donate to help Twerky get better.
