Jennifer Sanders, known to all her friends as Tweety, needs your help to make her home livable again.
On Feb 2nd a fire started in a kitchen ceiling fan and did significant damage to the electrical system and roof structure of Tweety’s home. The fire damage forced Tweety to seek shelter with family and friends. Tweety, who is a fiercely independent woman and normally the one others depend on for help, is struggling to come up with the money for the repairs. She didn’t have insurance and although she has some savings, it isn’t enough. The estimated cost of repairs is about $15,000.
Her home, in Kilgore Texas, was purchased by her parents in 1962 and is the place where Tweety was born and raised. As a lifelong Kilgore resident, she graduated from Kilgore High in 1984 and raised her family in this home. Tweety is a single mother of 3 and a grandmother to 6 beautiful grandkids who she helped raise. Tweety is always willing to share what she has with others in need and NaNa’s house was always a safe place to stay for family or friends in time of need for as long as they needed it.
Tweety works for ABC Auto Parts Distribution Center in Longview Texas and has for the last 12 years, responsible for managing the vendor return process for warranty items. She is well-liked by her co-workers and is known as someone who works hard and takes pride in the quality of her work. She is a self-reliant person who rarely asks for help yet is always willing to help others. Once her friends at work found out that she was struggling to find a way to repair her house they immediately started trying to find a way to help. They are making plans for everything from a bake sale to volunteer work on the repairs to Tweety’s home. The people who know Tweety want to help her and know she deserves the help.
Overwhelmed by the unexpected offers to help, Tweety cried tears of gratitude and relief. She began to have hope again that she would be able to return to her home. She is ready to go home, please help if you can. Any help, including thoughts and prayers, will be greatly appreciated.
