FIRST Tech Challenge Team 16091 T.W.C.A. (Team Without a Cool Acronym) has advanced from the Utah Region Championship and earned the opportunity to compete at the FIRST World Championships in Houston, Texas!

FIRST is a youth organization that stands for FOR Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. The program is progressive, starting with preschool-age children building robots out of LEGOs, culminating with seniors in high school, building and competing with large custom robots worldwide. In FIRST Tech Challenge, youth teams consisting of between 2 and 15 students field a team where they must perform volunteer work, outreach about the FIRST program, engage business professionals and engineers in their community and complete the task of building a robot capable of both autonomous and driver-controlled tasks.

Team Without a Cool Acronym is a 4th-year team consisting of 6 youth members from neighboring towns of Hurricane, LaVerkin, and St. George in Southern Utah. The experience of team members ranges from 7 years to 1st season rookies! T.W.C.A. is themed on the hit television show Phineas and Ferb from Disney Animation. TWCA is reaching out for help in fundraising the money needed for their trip to the FIRST World Championship in Houston Texas. Our budget is outlined below:

$2,000 - Championship Registration

$2,600 - Air travel

$4,380 - Lodging in Downtown Houston for 6 days and 5 nights.

$2,400 - Meals and snacks for 6 days.

$1,800 - Equipment Transportation Vehicle and Driver costs.

$316 - Uniform

$504 - Additional fees (airport transport/parking/robot maintenance)
