Hello! Above is Tux, my 5-year-old son's new puppy, 3 months old.
Tux was seen by a vet on Saturday, 11/15, due to vomiting, collapsing, not drinking water, and crying/whining. X-rays were taken, and we were informed he has a large hernia in his rib cage and a possible obstruction in his intestines. We were then quoted $10,000 for emergency surgery, and this is not doable. I am a single mom, and while I'm not indigent, I cannot pay more than $1,000.
Tux was brought back to our home and has been in pain ever since—not improving. We are devastated, and my son is heartbroken. The vet he was seen by said he will eventually need surgery, or he will die and decline day by day. Other vets were contacted to see if we could find cheaper options. One vet said around $2,000, but that is a rough estimate, and another said $4,000-$4,500.
I have added photos of the X-ray taken, photos of Tux when we first got him, and now. Please share and pray, pray, pray for us and sweet Tux! Please also share any resources or low-cost vet options. We will be thankful for any kind of help.
