Hi, my name is Tuula.

I’m a single mum who has spent most of my life caring for others — my children, one of whom has additional needs, and the people I support through my work in NDIS. I’ve always been the one others rely on. But right now, I’m at a point where I need help to rebuild my own stability.

Over the past 6 years, I’ve had to move 7 times. Each move has been stressful, disruptive, and emotionally exhausting — constantly starting over, never quite able to get ahead. I’ve registered for government housing - but unfortunately there is currently a 7 year wait list.

The long-term stress of this instability has also impacted my health, which has left me with a chronic pain condition (fibromyalgia). My nervous system is misfiring pain signals through my body … and the more I stress - the more pain I feel . I’m still learning about this condition as I’m a very fit and healthy person otherwise . While I continue to work and push forward, it’s made it even more important for me to create a stable, low-stress environment.

Recently, things reached a point where I made one of the hardest decisions of my life — I had to send my boys to live with their father, simply because I couldn’t provide stable housing for us anymore. That’s not something I ever imagined I would have to do. And it’s the reason I’m doing this.

I’m not looking for a handout — I’m trying to create a real, stable foundation so I can move forward and rebuild properly.

My goal is to secure a tiny home or mobile home, something affordable and permanent that gives me stability, reduces financial pressure, and allows me to focus on working consistently and rebuilding my life. More than anything, I want to create a home again — a place where I can eventually bring my boys back and feel settled, safe, and secure.

I currently work across multiple income streams, including:

• aged care/ disability support work

• My beauty business

I am doing everything I can to stand on my own two feet. But after years of instability, I just need a step up to break the cycle.
