Help Turtle fight ALS

In December 2022, our good friend Michael McKernan, better known to most of us as Turtle, was diagnosed with ALS.

This cruel disease gradually takes away all muscle control, making the road ahead unimaginably hard for him and his loved ones.

Turtle is a hilarious, thoughtful, and caring person who would do anything for anyone. Whether you joined him over the past couple of years during his weekly grilling live streams - Turtle Can Cook’ (TCC in the house!), or have known him for decades through his dedication and love for the fire service, built submarines next to him at EB, or taken cruises around the world with him, Turtle has been a fixture in many lives. Turtle is most proud of his tenure as Fire Chief (and life membership) of the Ledyard Fire Company, service in the Mystic Fire Department and Quambaug Fire Department.

Turtle has been a rock to his family and a dear friend to many. Now it's time to return the favor. Please consider donating to this deserving man to help with his bills, medication and any unexpected expenses.
