Help 36 Rescue Cats Travel from Turkey to the U.K.

My name is Carole Macgregor.

This Go Fund Me Appeal is to help a very worthy cause close to my heart - Arthur's Legacy Cat Sanctuary. I am aiming to raise £15,000 to help with the relocation of 36 rescue cats from Dalyan, Turkey to Northern Ireland. The costs for this trip is in excess of £30000. All the funds raised will go directly to Arthurs and put towards the transportation costs and associated vet fees for a 5 day road trip for all 36 cats. There are no staff fees or administration costs involved.

Glynis Taylor and Dave Gato moved from N. Ireland to Turkey in 2021 at their own expense to get involved with the rescue of street cats - to help the injured, the sick and the vulnerable. Arthur's Legacy Cat Sanctuary was established soon after. A respite was built at the side of their house for those cats / kittens requiring individual care others taken in became residents in the house.

Since then they have worked non-stop rescuing and saving the lives of many kittens and cats - trapping and lifting those that need help, transporting to vets and then paying for and monitoring regularly the ongoing treatment plans. If cats are able to be retuned to the streets then they are followed up to make sure they remain healthy and are coping. Arthurs cover all costs for these rescues.

Some of the cats and kittens that were rescued remain in Arthur's care as due to a variety of reasons e.g disabilities, neurological issues, weakened immune systems or ongoing health problems this made them too vulnerable to be returned to street life. These cats are now full family members and are well cared for and loved. To see some of the cats and read their stories please see the videos in the update section.

Unfortunately, this couple are now having to return to the U.K. as Dave has ongoing serious health issues. Glynis and Dave are bringing all 36 cats in their care with them. The cats will continue to live their best lives with them in Ireland.

Not only have Arthurs rescued and cared for the many cats found to be injured or ill they have also set up a street feeding scheme in Dalyan. Over 30 food containers and water bowls have been set up around the town and these are regularly maintained. These food containers allow the cats to have access to food all year round, especially in the winter months when there are less visitors to the area.

Glynis and Dave have an amazing group of supporters who have raised funds continuously during their time in Turkey in order to help the work that Arthurs has done. Without this support that work could not have happened. Glynis and Dave are trying to raise funds themselves to pay for the relocation of the cats but some of their supporters ( myself included) want to get involved in helping them out to bring the whole family home together.

Any monies raised will be greatly appreciated. Once back in the UK we will still be able to follow the lives and daily antics of so many well known characters (Arthur's Legacy Cat Sanctuary on Facebook).
