The creative team behind the original play “Ahead of Their Time” wants to provide easy access to Tulsa high school theatre students interested in pursuing the arts professionally, personally or both

They are offering special pricing for the matinee performance on Saturday, September 12th at 2 p.m. at the Doenges Theatre inside the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. In addition, they are asking for donations to sponsor a student from a local high school to attend the play and a special talk back session with the cast and creative team behind the play, moderated by Michele Ross, Professional Vocal & Acting Coach in Tulsa.

They are working directly with high school theatre programs and theatre & drama department heads & teachers to make this happen.

The play was written and is directed by Tulsa native Jameson White, a 2021 graduate of Edison Prep High School who received her BFA from the CAP21 program at Molloy University in New York. The play premiered in April 2025 at her college and was part of the New York Theatre Festival in January 2026. she is based in New York and thrilled to be back home for her play's regional debut in Tulsa.

The majority of the cast members are local actors and actresses based in Tulsa and many attended high school theatre programs in Tulsa. They want to share their experiences and knowledge of working in the industry with local high school students.
